The Occupier's Statement

Written by Peter | 16 Sep 2021

Kristy Keech, National Operations Manager at Australian Essential Services Compliance (AESC), recently wrote a timely article about the Queensland Occupier’s Statement.

As a building owner or occupier, you are required to ensure that Fire Safety Installations in your building comply with the requirements of Queensland Development Code (QDC) MP 6.1.

To prove that all fire safety installations within the premises are being maintained to the standards set by Queensland’s regulations, you need to send an Occupier's Statement to the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFRS) every year.

It is advisable to engage an approved fire protection contractor to provide all certificates that are required by law. And for fire protection contractors it is advisable to use FireMate as creating the Occupier's Statement is a feature of our software :)
